How do I obtain a Texas certified driving record?

February 7th, 2010

Up until October 29, 2009, there was 4 Texas DPS’ Driver Improvement and Control offices in the state of Texas.  They are closed now and this has left us with 2 available options.

Driving records must now be requested from DPS online if the audit number on the license is available.  If the audit number is not available the Attorney and/or individual can request the record in writing using DPS’ form DR-1 and mailing $6.00 cashier’s check or money order:

Texas Department of Public Safety

Driving Records Bureau

PO Box 149246

Austin TX 78714

512-424-2032

or request online at http://www.texasonline.state.tx.us

ATTENTION MOTOR VEHICLE OWNERS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS!!!

September 23rd, 2009

Have you heard of the TexasSure program now being implemented by the state?  TexasSure was set up to prevent uninsured vehicles from being operated on Texas roads.  It is estimated that 1 out of 5 vehicles in the state is not insured.  Should you get in an accident with one of these vehicles there is a slim chance that you will receive any type of compensation for any personal injuries or vehicle damage.  This program will also help keep the costs of motor vehicle insurance down by making sure everyone pays their fair share for driving on our roads.

This is the way TexasSure works.  Any vehicle that is registered in the state of Texas will now be kept on a statewide database that will include up to date insurance compliance info for all vehicles registered.  Now, anytime an officer pulls up behind you on the road all that he has to do is enter your license plate number into that database and they in an instant he will now if you have current vehicle insurance.  If not, you will then receive a citation for non-compliance and, in what is now becoming the standard, your vehicle will also be towed and impounded adding even more costs to you.  Your vehicle will not be released to you until you can show adequate proof of obtaining vehicle insurance.

So do your part and let Speedy SR-22 insurance company help you stay on the road and comply with this new requirement.  Remember “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”!

Are you one of the 4 million uninsured drivers in the state of Texas?

August 31st, 2009

Are you one of the 4 million uninsured drivers in the state of Texas?  Can you really afford to be caught without at least liability motor insurance on your vehicle?  The price of a first infraction is $350.00 subsequent fines can total $350.00 and finally $1000.00 and the suspension of your drivers’ license.  This does not include any time loss from work or wages related to that.  How would you like your mom to drive you around and drop you off at the age of 37?
